EXTENSION OF UNEMPLOYEMENT BENEFITS
..........Give me a break…. Are you kidding?
 Our current extension of unemployment benefits for up to an additional thirteen months is not only a joke, but it’s criminal!
Where is the incentive to find work? I submit, NONE. The system has failed if a recipient only has to report that they are still out of work and can’t find “suitable” employment. Suitable in whose mind? What if a recipient had to prove their job seeking activities and is required to have well documented? I suspect less people would qualify and receive unemployment checks.
The joke of it is, there are literally thousands of jobs just begging for someone to take. They may not be what you have been doing most of your life or what you would prefer to do in a perfect world, but this is not a perfect world my friends! Just to name a few industries always looking for full or part time help; hospitality, health care, retail, service and yes, even private car service.
It takes very little imagination or initiative to find alternate sources of income. You may not make the same level as before, but it’s better than sitting on your butt an drawing unemployment benefits. If you cannot come up with something within six months, you’re either not trying, your lazy or you are a total idiot--or all three!
Pepper challenges anyone with good health, decent vehicle and a burning desire to be independent and non-reliant on a “gimme-entitlement” to consider becoming a private car service driver/owner. you can still seek other employment, but in the meantime, you have an income stream and higher self respect. Pepper will be delighted to discuss options and strategies with anyone without a fee or obligation.
Right now, the Valley of the Sun could easily support two dozen or more independent private car services such as PEPPER’s Private Car Service. People still need transportation and affordable alternatives to the pricey big guys with slick sedans, limos and black suits and ties.
Pepper had been in real estate for many years and when the Arizona bubble burst he found himself needing a “real job”. Yes, he interviewed, send out dozens of resumes and when he did an interview, it was typically the same response.....”sorry, but you are over qualified”, which is code for you are too old! (as judged by some 25-30 something HR assistant).
No one would hire him, so he hired himself! Best move he ever made.
So all those folks who are getting unemployment benefits and need a ride to the airport should give us a call next time they want a free ride somewhere --just because they are entitled!
